About Us

Originally from Nova Scotia, Kim and Colin Palmer moved to Saskatchewan in 1993 to further Colin’s veterinary career. Having been raised on a commercial beef farm Colin had long-desired a cattle herd of his own and following the sale of our last polled Hereford cow in Nova Scotia we purchased the first 3 Red Angus females December 1997… 2 cows and a heifer.

In 2004 we bought land of our own at our current location south of Saskatoon and started building a farm from what started as a ¼ section of pasture. Our first calves were born at the new location in 2006 and we built our house here in 2009-2010.

To expand the herd ET was used in the early years. Red LMAN King Rob 8621, was a great choice as a sire in our ET and AI program and produced many productive females for our herd. King Rob shows up in the pedigree of almost all of our KC Cattle Co. bred cow families. Other cow families have been added over the years from some very respectable programs. In recent years, we have discovered another great foundation sire – Red Six Mile Sakic 832S who now is featured in the pedigrees of over half of our younger cows and heifers. Like King Rob’s daughters the feet and dispositions of these females are excellent and we think it is hard to beat the udder of a Sakic daughter. We have benefited tremendously through an intensive AI program which has enabled us to develop some excellent cow females.
